Social media can draw us into a virtual world where much time can be wasted. The appeal of the newsfeed to see what’s new lures you in. ‘Oh, I’ll just be on for 5 minutes!”
What if staying comfortable IS a mistake?
The fact that your plans don’t work out the way you envisioned, doesn’t mean they won’t work out at all!
All it takes for a mental assent to the idea of quitting, and the next thing you know, you’ve thrown your dreams away. OR you could draw on that warrior within you and smash those defeatist thoughts to rise up and keep trying.
If you are a goal oriented, recovering perfectionist like me, then a setback would be viewed critically and a review of the goals would serve as a reminder of failure. That’s not good. I think this may be one reason why so many give up on their goals.
What about a different approach?
Feeling frustrated to the point of wanting to give up doesn’t mean that you are unsuccessful. More than likely, it means that you are trying. You are chasing goals. You are out of your comfort zone. You are DOING GREAT!
What if the weak person that was once the default persona was actually the fake, with the real me, the strong warrior buried deep within?
