If we make a mistake or stumble, we soon realize whatever we tripped over was a well disguised lesson that enables us to better understand who we are and what we are called to do.
Before you say, “I can’t settle down. I can’t feel peace because I’m so stressed out!” remember that every one of these Joy Breaks is accomplished by our CHOICE to do so.
If you are a goal oriented, recovering perfectionist like me, then a setback would be viewed critically and a review of the goals would serve as a reminder of failure. That’s not good. I think this may be one reason why so many give up on their goals.
What about a different approach?
What if the thing you don’t want to do, or think you can’t do is the ONLY thing standing between you and the breakthrough you long for?
In 2016, I will lighten up on myself and resolve to be imperfectly awesome.
I will give my best, and my best, even if imperfect, will be good enough.
I WILL be pleased with my best efforts.
To enjoy life and grasp the numerous and wondrous lessons it holds, we have to be intentional and live with eyes wide open.
Ok, so you’ve just had a rough week. Things didn’t go right, and all that you hoped to accomplish is still waiting to get done. Now what?
What is the point of achieving goals if you don’t enjoy life and relationships along the way?
If you are taking active steps toward fulfilling life-long dreams, then you ARE living your dream! Sure, it’s not in total fulfillment, but without the journey, there is NO dream.
